This past Sunday, my house in Little Axe, Oklahoma, was hit by a tornado. I was at work and my family was in the neighbor’s storm shelter. When they finally got above ground, my parents only had a few minutes to go inside and grab the essentials. It turned out that my room had taken most of the damage. Most of my books and my copies of National Geographic magazines (I’m crazy about them and want to write for them someday) were either blown away or soaked.
Hours later, when I was able to reunite with my parents and little sister, my mom told me, “I grabbed The Fault in Our Stars. I don’t know why. I just did.” I broke down in tears. Just a week before, I had yelled at my sister because her dog had gotten a hold of it. Now, it’s wet and wrinkled and filthy, but it’s still one of my most prized possessions. I hardly have anything else right now, but I can be happy knowing I have this book.
If you guys can get a girl a fluffy chicken, I know you can make John Green find the thing. I just want him to know that nothing could ever bring me more comfort now than his book. I just want to say thank you to him for helping me through this.

There once was a young boy with a very bad temper. The boy’s father wanted to teach him a lesson, so he gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper he must hammer a nail into their wooden fence.

On the first day of this lesson, the little boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. He was really mad!

Over the course of the next few weeks, the little boy began to control his temper, so the number of nails that were hammered into the fence dramatically decreased.

It wasn’t long before the little boy discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Then, the day finally came when the little boy didn’t lose his temper even once, and he became so proud of himself, he couldn’t wait to tell his father.

Pleased, his father suggested that he now pull out one nail for each day that he could hold his temper.

Several weeks went by and the day finally came when the young boy was able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

Very gently, the father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.

“You have done very well, my son,” he smiled, “but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same.”

The little boy listened carefully as his father continued to speak.

“When you say things in anger, they leave permanent scars just like these. And no matter how many times you say you’re sorry, the wounds will still be there.”

This is sickening all over! I actually live up the street from where this happened. &’ on top of that this baby girl’s mother was a friend of mine . The crazy thing was i saw my friend , tekiah , when i went to the hospital sunday night &’ she looked crazy. I was in the er room and my boyfriends friends mother called &’ told him about the accident. he asked the nurse about it &’ she just said only thing you can do is pray for that baby girl , it was horrible. a few minutes later i saw her walking by my room , looking all bugg eyed and banged up , being led to the x/ray room. She waved and kept going . I was getting discharged but i waited to make sure she was ok. I saw her and said ” omg whats going on?” She looked at me and said i was in a car accident &’ my daughter is in hartford hospital. I had nothing to say . Speechless , i hugged her &’ told her to let me know if anything. Over night , little miss aaliyah santiago was called home. I cant imagine how this poor girl must feel losing her baby to this fucked up, careless bastard. I saw the face of this idiot that night too. I cant even fathom how much hate , sadness , &’ confusion tekiah &’ amalio are feeling right now . I just cant . Im in tears because i know this girl &’ im currently carrying a baby girl right now . It just seems like yesterday she was born looking like a chunky chinese baby doll . December 27, 2011 - May 6, 2013

This is just horrible. I was in texts reading the article. More reading the comments. How could anyone do this.. how could anyone think its okay to drive intoxicated. I can’t even. My heart goes out to that poor mother and family. Stay strong.
